Mamma Rosy at Kemang

I was so grateful to finally be able to visit Mamma Rosy. And the more exciting news in addition to this is I get to eat there with IDR 300k voucher from Zomato Indonesia. It was located nicely at Kemang, the most hype hanging out place in South Jakarta and gladly to say that the restaurant itself is cozy and sophisticated. It was far beyond my expectation remembering that the actual concept is homey and comfortable which you can see from how they name the restaurant.

Complimentary Bread for Starter

Let’s move on to the nom nom factor now. I visited the restaurant with my family which is good as we were able to try quite a lot of the food there, especially for their famous a la carte pasta selection (IDR 79k). This is how you order.

 - Select your favourite pastas from either fresh (ravioli etc) or dry pastas (fusilli, spaghetti etc)
       - Choose you sauce to go with the pastas, from the usual tomato base sauce to buttery ones
       - You are so ready to eat!

Gnocchi with Butter Sage
T   My personal choice of the day is gnocchi with butter sage sauce. I have been wanting to pasta since I almost always see many Italian chef on TV making it. Gnocchi is basically a potato base fresh pasta in a shape of balls. But actually, it can be in any form. No intention to offense at all but I think Mamma should resize each ball of the gnocchi. The first couple bite might so indulging but the next bites can be torturing. The texture is good, taste is decent but you can be sick of it for too many balls consumed. On the other hand, the sauce is superb. I could lick the sauce and clean the plate. Finger Licking Good Mamma!!

Ravioli with A.O.P Sauce

Tagliatelle with A.O.P Sauce
Our next order was ravioli, which is many online reviews recommend to try the dish with A.O.P sauce to go along with it. The ravioli is not too thick and perfectly cooked, filled with cream cheese and spinach. Complemented with A.O.P sauce, the sauce is not overpower the pasta and got a nice hint of the heat from the chili flakes make it overall a quite nice dish. However, the sauce was better paired with tagliatelle to be honest and ravioli was also recommended to have with butter sage sauce.

Tagliatelle with Pesto Sauce
Another dish was tagliatelle with pesto sauce. The pesto was so robust and it was overwhelming. I was kind of shock as the sauce was so much more herb-ish than the one served in Kitchenette which was more on the mild side. In this case, I prefer the latter.

Frutti de Mare Pizza

Shirley Temple (Front) and Fruit Punch (Back)

We also ordered the frutti the mare pizza (seafood lover) (IDR 110k). The pizza is cooked in traditional way which the bread is thin and using fresh mozzarella. The taste was just okay though. For the drinks we ordered all the moctails available on the menu. As I do not really remember each name of them but all I can say overall they were fresh, but we prefer their strawberry smoothies. Nicely executed with a good balance of sweetness and creamy texture.
